Smart working, how often is a break necessary

With the Coronavirus emergency, the words “smart working” which are used to mean a mode of agile work that takes place from home. Taking a break is also essential to avoid nagging back pain that can be treated with the popular pain-relief patches.

Smart working, break to avoid loads

In fact, many workers have the option of working from home without having to travel to the workplace, this is to avoid commuting and assembling in offices.

Although many people think that smart working can only be those who work on computers, in reality a great many other workers can also work from home.

This is how there are precisely so many people in Italy who have been working from home for a few months already.

Working in smart working

Working in smart working however does not mean being on call all the time since the limits of the length of the working day and week do not change, nor do the number of hours one has to work (rather the distribution of working hours during the day may change).

Nothing about the worker’s contract is changed but simply the manner in which the service is provided changes.

Thus, the worker will be able to manage his or her workday without, however, failing in productivity and completing all the day’s objectives.

It is always better, in this regard, to establish in advance the times at which one intends to work and those at which to take a break: at night, for example, one excludes the possibility of working (unless one’s job requires it).

In fact, the worker must be guaranteed a minimum continuous rest period of 11 hours every twenty-four hours.

In addition, regarding breaks when working in smart working, they are stipulated as follows: 15 minutes break from the video terminal for every 2 hours of work.

Thus, in that 15-minute break, the worker will be able to indulge in some rest such as stretching his legs or drinking coffee, just like he was in the office.
